In 1934, The Daily News Journal held a reader contest to replace then-MTSC's previous nicknames of Pedagogues, Normalities and Teachers. Charles Sarver won the $5 prize with his submission of Blue Raiders, taking inspiration from the Colgate Red Raiders. |
